Hohenwarte is conveniently located for exploring the surrounding marshlands, popping over the border to Germany, visiting the attractive town of Tønder with its many shopping opportunities, relaxing on Rømø’s fine beaches – and much more.
Weather permitting, we can arrange horse-drawn wagon tours of the marshes.

The old border crossing to Germany in the southern-most corner of Jutland at Siltoft is worth visiting for its nature reserve and rich birdlife!
Enjoy the marshlands from the saddle by cycling south from Hohenwarte to cross into Germany at Siltoft and then re-cross into Denmark at Rudbøl – about 25 km. You can rent bicycles at Hohenwarte for DKK 70 per day.
Activity playground ‘Jump a lot’ is about 40 km from Hohenwarte and has a wide range of games and activities for kids aged roughly 2-12.
